We’re planting trees again!
For every order placed during Green Friday, we plant 5 trees in Green Friday forest ‘Het Twiske’ in the Zaan region. Step by step, we help increase CO2 uptake and make the world a little greener! The benefits of Green Friday at a glance:
1. Trees help combat climate change
Trees absorb CO2 from the air and store it in their wood and roots. By doing so, they help lower the concentration of CO2 in the atmosphere, which is an important contribution to combating climate change.
2. Trees make for cleaner air
Trees filter the air and remove pollutants such as fine dust and nitrogen dioxide. As a result, they improve air quality, which can reduce the risk of respiratory diseases and other health problems.
3. Trees provide habitat for animals and plants
Trees provide habitat for a wide variety of animals and plants. They are an important link in the ecosystem and help maintain biodiversity.
In addition, trees can also help improve water quality, reduce noise pollution and create a more pleasant living environment.
Conclusion
Trees are an important link in a sustainable society. They help combat climate change, create cleaner air and provide habitat for animals and plants. Thus, planting trees is an important measure to promote sustainability.
Last year's results!
In 2023, we planted 360 trees. This provided some interesting facts.
1 tree offsets 35kg of CO2 from the air
This means that together with our customers, we're taking 12,600kg of CO2 out of the air!
35kg CO2 offsets more than 8,750 stand-up pouches
This means that with the trees we will plant, we will compensate more than 3 million stand-up pouches.
