Personalising pouches from stock?
There are many creative ways to personalise stand-up pouches from stock without printing them. You can start by choosing a stand-up pouch in a particular colour. We have stand-up pouches in black, silver, gold, red and more. And both glossy and matt. Combine the right colour with the right finish to create an eye-catching, personalised bag!
Labels and stickers
Stickers and labels give your stand-up pouch a personal touch. Sticker or labels can feature your logo, ingredients, barcodes and other relevant data.
Customisable labels not only offer an additional opportunity to reinforce brand identity, but also to display important information about the product, such as ingredients, nutritional values, and instructions for use.
Another advantage of personalising stand-up pouches from stock is the flexibility and speed of production. Unlike traditional printing, which often involves more time, foils, labels, stamps and/or stickers can be applied quickly, making it easier for producers to respond to seasonal promotions, special events or changing design needs.
In short, personalisation without printing offers you a quick way to add unique and attractive designs to stand-up pouches, while maintaining flexibility and efficiency in the production process.
How does a zipper work?
A zipper is a convenient closure used to reopen and close a bag. It is also known as a zip, zip-lock, or resealable closure. Read how a zipper works in a stand-up bag here.
Opening and closing: A zipper consists of two plastic strips at the top of the stand-up pouch. One strip fits precisely into the strip on the other side. To close the stand-up pouch, push one side of the zipper into the other side by sliding your fingers along the strip. To open the bag again, pull the strips apart and access the contents.
Resealability: The convenient aspect of a zipper is that you can easily close the bag by bringing the strips back together. This creates an airtight seal that protects the contents from air and moisture. The resealability ensures the contents stay fresh for longer.
Repeated use: The zipper is reusable, which means you can open and close the stand-up pouch several times without reducing the effectiveness of the closure. This makes it ideal for products that are opened and closed frequently, such as snacks, nuts, cereals, and more.
Freshness: Thanks to the zipper's airtight seal, products stay fresh longer and retain their flavour and quality. This makes it a popular choice for food products.
In short, a zipper in a stand-up pouch is a smart and practical closure method for resealability, offering both convenience and freshness. It is a great choice for products that are consumed frequently and where it is important to keep the contents safe and fresh between opening and closing the bag. However, it is always recommended to seal a stand-up pouch with a sealer for optimal protection.
What is mono-material?
We can make pouches from mono-material. This means we use one type of plastic instead of several. This makes these pouches 100% recyclable.
We use materials from the PE (polyethylene) family or the PP (polypropylene) family to produce beautiful pouches with the same quality as multi-layer stand-up pouches. These pouches are also available with extra-high barriers against oxygen and moisture, or with coffee valves and with custom printing. All of these materials can be reused after the recycling process.

How are stand-up pouches made?
Stand-up pouches, also known as stand-up pouches, are a versatile and popular packaging solution. Stand-up pouches are used for a variety of products, ranging from food to cosmetics and other non-food products. But what are the steps in the production process of these handy bags?
Raw material selection
Production starts with the careful selection of high-quality raw materials. Which substances these are depends on the type of stand-up pouch being produced. They usually involve several layers of plastic such as polyethylene, polyester and aluminium foil. These layers are combined to provide the desired properties such as strength, barrier protection and flexibility.
Extrusion of film
The selected raw materials are then combined and passed through an extrusion machine. During this process, the different layers are converted into a multilayer film with the desired properties.
Printing and lamination
Will you have your stand-up pouches printed? After extrusion, the film can be printed with custom designs, logos and information about the packed product. The film is then laminated to protect the print and provide extra strength.
Shaping and sealing
The laminated film is cut into the desired shape and sealed together to form the bags. This seal can be achieved using various methods, such as heat or ultrasonic sealing, depending on the specifications of the stand-up pouches.
Adding resealability options
Optionally, resealability options such as zip fasteners can be added to the stand-up pouches. Resealability offers convenience for consumers and extends the shelf life of the packaged product.
Quality control and packaging
During the production process, stand-up pouches undergo strict quality controls to ensure they meet the highest standards. After approval, the bags are packed and prepared for shipment to our warehouse.
Personalisation without printing
Finally, users can also personalise the stand-up pouches without direct printing. This can be done, for example, by using coloured foils or by adding labels and stickers. These personalisation options offer a quick and cost-effective way to add brand identity and information to stand-up pouches. Ready for the shop shelves!
The history of stand-up pouches
The stand-up pouch has come a long way since its introduction. This journey starts in the early 20th century, when the first simple bags were used for packing bulk goods.
1950s: The first big breakthrough came in the 1950s, when flexible packaging became more commonplace. Innovations in plastics led to lighter and more versatile packaging solutions.
1970s: In the 1970s, stand-up pouches were introduced. These bags, which could stand upright, were a game-changer for shelf appearance in shops.
1990s: The 1990s saw further refinement with the introduction of resealable zippers, making stand-up pouches even more user-friendly.
2000s: The new millennium brought advanced printing techniques and more durable materials, improving stand-up pouches both aesthetically and functionally.
2020s: Mono-material stand-up pouches are on the rise thanks to their sustainable aspect. These stand-up pouches are easy to recycle.
Today's stand-up pouch: a pillar of modern packaging
Today, stand-up pouches are an integral part of the packaging landscape. With their eye-catching design and functionality, they are ideal for a wide range of products, from food to non-food items. Today's stand-up pouches offer:
Sustainability: Being made of materials that are both strong and lightweight, they minimise transport costs and environmental impact.
Ease of use: Resealable options, such as zippers, ensure longer freshness and convenience for consumers.
Branding: Customised prints and designs make stand-up pouches powerful marketing tools at the point of sale.
The future of stand-up pouches: innovations on the horizon
In the future too, we expect the stand-up pouch range to grow, with ongoing innovations that further improve functionality and sustainability. Some expected trends include:
More sustainable materials: The focus on environmental friendliness will lead to more recyclable options.
Advanced barrier properties: Developments in material technology will make stand-up pouches even better at protecting against moisture, light, and air.
From their humble beginnings to today's modern, multifunctional designs, stand-up pouches have come a long way. With continuous innovations in sustainability and technology, stand-up pouches are poised to play an even more important role in the future of packaging. For companies that want to lead the way, stand-up pouches offer a perfect combination of functionality, aesthetics and environmental friendliness.
